Affection in Affliction

Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians is full of affection for people in affliction.

He writes to them with good news to encourage, reassure, empower them—with good news.

Christ's affection for you is greater than your affliction in this world.

His affliction in this world is the deepest sign of his affection for you.

He is our sure hope—here, now, and for all eternity.
